sculpturessingle fired terracotta with a beeswax polish

Using traditional hand building methods in terracotta clay, each sculpture is in essence a hollow vessel. Smaller forms start life as simple hollow eggs smoothed into their final shape, larger pieces are built up gradually using coils of clay, the final form being a fusion of the process of its creation and the initial stimulus (whether human or animal)

The surface is built up with layers of coloured china clay, the work being single fired and finished with a beeswax polish
